{September 11, 2009}   Verse Poem

Caregiver

In a lonely dark corridor

A child crawls up and sobs

In rags and boxes

For hunger has come and gone

A man feels pity whilst smoking a cigar

In his pocket he reveals his last chocolate bar

He turns and offers

For he knows his better off

Awaits no gesture
